Office 365 Planner is similar to the popular Trello application and well-suited to the management of small projects or the set of collective tasks owned by workgroups. It is not intended to be as powerful and flexible as Microsoft Project, which remains the tool of choice for project managers and those involved in the day-to-day management of large or complex projects.
Microsoft Teams is the chat-based workspace in Office 365. It's the hub for team chats, calls, meetings, and messages. Microsoft Teams is extensible and customizable, and it's secured and standards-compliant to make sure your company's most sensitive collaborations are private.
Microsoft Teams is built on Office 365 Groups and Skype for Business. It provides a new way to access shared assets for an Office 365 through the web browser or desktop application. Connections can be made to other Office 365 components and other popular SaaS applications.
Skype that you use at home is great for smaller businesses of up to 20 employees. It is free to use, unless you want to buy credit to make calls to landlines and mobiles. Skype for Business lets you add up to 250 people to online meetings, provides enterprise-grade security, allows you to manage employee accounts, and is integrated into your Office apps. It costs $2 per month, per user. Skype and Skype for Business users can connect if an administrator allows it.
