Description: This policy allows you to turn off projection from a PC. If you set it to 0, your PC cannot discover or project to other devices. If you set it to 1, your PC can discover and project to other devices.

Why It's Important: This policy disables the ability for the PC to discover or project its display to other devices. Turning this feature off prevents unauthorized wireless screen sharing and protects sensitive visual information from being transmitted outside the secure network or to unapproved devices.

Description: This policy allows you to turn off projection from a PC over infrastructure. If you set it to 0, your PC cannot discover or project to other infrastructure devices, though it may still be possible to discover and project over WiFi Direct. If you set it to 1, your PC can discover and project to other devices over infrastructure.

Why It's Important: This policy disables screen projection from the PC over network infrastructure, such as corporate LAN or Wi-Fi networks. Restricting projection over infrastructure reduces the risk of unintended data sharing or remote display sessions across the organization’s network, allowing projection only through direct, local Wi-Fi Direct connections if needed.

Description: This policy setting allows you to turn off projection to a PC If you set it to 0, your PC can't be discoverable or projected to over Wi-Fi Direct. If you set it to 1, your PC can be discoverable and projected to over Wi-Fi Direct. The user has an option to turn it always on or off except for manual launch, too.

Why It's Important: This policy disables the ability for other devices to project their screens to the PC over Wi-Fi Direct. Turning this feature off prevents unauthorized wireless display connections, reducing the risk of data exposure, session hijacking, or unintended device pairing in managed environments.

If you set it to 1, your PC can be discoverable and can be projected to over infrastructure.

Why It's Important: This policy disables projection to the PC over network infrastructure connections such as LAN or Wi-Fi networks. Restricting projection over infrastructure helps prevent unauthorized access attempts from within the organization’s network and ensures projection is only possible through direct, controlled Wi-Fi Direct connections if needed.

Description: Setting this policy controls whether or not the wireless display can send input—keyboard, mouse, pen, and touch input if the display supports it—back to the source device.

Why It's Important: This policy disables input (keyboard, mouse, pen, or touch) from a wireless display receiver to the source device. Disabling this feature prevents unauthorized or accidental control of the presenting device, reducing the risk of data manipulation or unauthorized system access during screen sharing sessions.

Description: This policy setting allows you to require a pin for pairing. If you set this to 0, a pin isn't required for pairing. If you set this to 1, the pairing ceremony for new devices will always require a PIN. If you set this to 2, all pairings will require PIN.

Why It's Important: This policy enforces the use of a PIN during all wireless display pairing processes. Requiring a PIN ensures that only authorized users can connect to the display, preventing unauthorized access or hijacking of wireless display sessions.

Description: This policy setting allows you to turn off the Wireless Display multicast DNS service advertisement from a Wireless Display receiver.

Why It's Important: This policy disables multicast DNS (mDNS) advertisement for Wireless Display, preventing the device from broadcasting its availability to other devices on the network. Turning off mDNS advertisement helps reduce the risk of unauthorized discovery, device spoofing, and unwanted wireless connections within enterprise or secured environments.

Description: This policy setting allows you to turn off discovering the display service advertised over multicast DNS by a Wireless Display receiver.

Why It's Important: This policy disables multicast DNS (mDNS) discovery for Wireless Display, preventing the device from locating display receivers that advertise via mDNS. Disabling discovery helps prevent accidental connections to untrusted or rogue wireless displays, protecting sensitive information from being shared outside secure network boundaries.
